  5. Pretty Creepy, but super cool.  One of the more interesting versions of this song I’ve seen composed.

Amanda Palmer covering Radiohead’s Creep: 2007

  11. Every time I think I am not a judgemental person, instances like the one surround this song happen and I am reminded that I always need to be more open minded.

I was flipping through the 32 newsletter emails that flood my mailbox (why do I sign up for these emails and look through EVER-SINGLE-ONE everyday?  One day I will have an answer for you), and in my Paste Magazine daily email, the words “Caveman Releases In the City, tour dates” came up and I though to myself,

“Ha Caveman… Sounds like a pretty generic and uninteresting band, I think I’ll pass”.

Scrolling back up the page, I saw the words again and this time thought,

“Maybe Caveman is some hidden gem of a band, and since they are releasing tour dates, maybe there will be one in LA, and since I’m going to lunch with my friend soon to map out all the concerts we are going to hit in the next month, maybe I can add this one to the list”… That’s a lot of thought for a band I was going to write off 20 seconds ago, I know.

Upon clicking on the link and listening to the sound cloud player, I realize that they’re actually pretty good.  Nothing amazing, but when seen live could potentially be a WOOOOOOOOWWWW experience.

I’ve been struggling with material for my upcoming radio show (you all better listen in) and I think I’ve just found another song to add to my playlist.

Moral of this story ladies and gents… Don’t judge a book  song by it’s cover band’s name.

    Happy Thursday :)

  12. Who said just because you are married, you can’t bring sexy back? Well, probably nobody actually said that, but in case they did, cheeky little Justin sets the record straight in a classy, I’m married and still hot kinda way.  Yep, that’s right, the object of my musical heart’s affection, Mr. Justin Timberlake has brought out his suit and tie to end his three year hiatus and release a single off his next album “The 20/20 Experience”, due later this year.

And if THAT isn’t enough to get your motor going, the modern King of Pop invited the Modern King of R&B, Mr. Jay Z, to this ball of epic proportions.  Taking into consideration that ^^ this single is the teaser they’ve chosen to release, I CAN NOT wait for the album release date to see who else got invited to the ball that Timbaland is producing.  The devious Duke Kanye, no doubt.  Maybe a fellow prince of the court from the N’sync days will be in attendance. And perhaps a visit from Azealia Bankcerella just before the stroke of midnight?  I’ve gone much too far overboard with this ball metaphor, but you get the picture.

To tide you over until that fateful day when the album drops, here is a little Monday mood move to get your bones going and your week started off right.

    Feliz Lunes you Looney Tunes.

  13. Very underrated.

  14. To honor the 25th Anniversary of You’re Living All Over Me, Dinosaur Jr. lassoed up an all star cast to perform a concert at NYC’s terminal 5 last night.  Johnny Marr performed with them on “A Boy With The Thorn In His Side”.  Wish I could have been there.
